Strip Search of Schoolgirls: McMinnville Police Officer Suspended

(MCMINNVILLE) -- The police officer who oversaw the strip search of girls at a McMinnville middle school has been demoted and suspended for 30 days without pay. Kent Stuart has been transferred from school duty. He is appealing the punishment. Two female police employees conducted the search of the 30 girls as they looked for items stolen from a locker room. The city and school district have offered five-thousand dollar settlements to the families of the girls involved. Not all have accepted.
